What is extruded acrylic?  Extruded acrylic has a more constant width than cast acrylic. Best to vacuum shape, bend or heat. Can be more susceptible to crack, in a few situations. Good quality extruded acrylic gives a very clean, smooth edge when laser cut. What is cast acrylic?  The thickness tolerance in cast acrylic varies more than in extruded acrylic. More expensive than extruded, but more versatile. Very strong acrylic, won't warp when heated. Can handle impacts better, resists scratching. 3 RULES FOR STENCILING:   When stenciling, a key factor in your success is remembering these 3 rules: Do not use too much paint. Do not use too much paint. Do not use too much paint.   Yup, that's the best advice we can give you to start with. No matter what your application tool of choice is, a stencil brush to pounce, sponge daubers, a roller or sea sponge, too much paint will give you a stenciling migraine.
